Brookdale Plans $26.6M, 84-Unit Expansion to Community in Connecticut

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. — Brookdale Senior Living, the largest owner and operator of seniors housing in the United States, has announced plans to add 84 units of assisted living and memory care to its Brookdale Chatfield property in West Hartford.

The project is estimated to cost $26.6 million, and will also include renovations to the existing 117 units of independent living, a redesigned entrance and a new bistro. The new units will consist of 50 assisted living apartments and 34 memory care units.

Brookdale cited a “soaring” seniors population in Connecticut as the reason for expansion.
