Dallas CCRC to Undergo $36M Renovation, Expansion

DALLAS — Edgemere, a nonprofit continuing care retirement community (CCRC) in Dallas developed and operated by Senior Quality Lifestyles Corporation, is slated for $36 million in renovations and expansion.

Edgemere currently has 304 independent living apartments, 60 assisted living apartments, 31 memory care suites and 72 private skilled nursing suites. Expansion will include a 6,000-square-foot performing arts center, eight assisted living apartments, 12 memory care suites, 15 private skilled nursing suites and an underground parking garage.

Renovations will include improvements to the community’s two dining venues and  indoor/outdoor courtyard areas.

Andres Construction will be the general contractor for the project. AG Architecture will be the design firm. Other project partners include interior design firm Looney & Associates and design consultants Faulkner Design Group and Kimley-Horn. Ziegler Capital Markets served as bond underwriter for the bond transaction.

Construction is expected to begin August 2015, and the project is scheduled for completion during the first quarter of 2018.
