EL RENO, Okla. — The Oklahoma Housing Finance Agency has awarded $4.7 million in low income housing tax credits to Gardner Capital Development for the construction of a $6 million, 46-unit affordable housing community for seniors in the Oklahoma City suburb of El Reno.

The project, known as Ridgeview Heights, will feature energy-efficient apartments in one-bedroom and two-bedroom layouts.

The project is located on a 12.5-acre site. Apartments are reserved for renters over the age of 62 making 60 percent or less of the county’s median income.

Construction is slated to begin in the spring of 2017, with completion expected a year later. Gardner Capital Development will serve as the lead developer for this project. Hans Thomas & Associates is the project architect.
