Holland Construction Breaks Ground on 30-Unit Community in Illinois

by Jeff Shaw

MCLEANSBORO, Ill. — Holland Construction Services has broken ground on Fox Meadows Senior Independent Living, a 30-unit independent living community in McLeansboro, approximately 100 miles southeast of St. Louis.

Fox Meadows NFP is developing the community on the former site of McLeansboro High School, which was abandoned for a newer building. The property seeks to serve low-income seniors in the small city.

Funding for the project will be provided by money generated by another seniors housing community in the city (Heritage Woods), tax credits provided by the Illinois Housing Development Authority, $5.6 million in private equity from Peoples National Bank and a grant from Ameren.

Worn Jerabeck Wiltse Architects and Shawnee Professional Services will provide the design of the facility.
