CHICAGO — The Admiral at the Lake’s Board of Directors has selected Nadia Geigler as the next executive director of the continuing care retirement community (CCRC) located on Chicago’s North Side.

The Kendal-affiliated nonprofit community features 200 units in a 31-story tower a block away from Foster Avenue Beach.

Geigler joined The Admiral at the Lake as chief operating officer in April 2016, and has worked in the aging services field since 1999. She has a master’s degree in nonprofit administration and is a licensed nursing home administrator in Illinois and Minnesota.

Geigler graduated from the national LeadingAge Leadership Academy in 2012 and now serves as facilitator of the LeadingAge Illinois Leadership Academy.

Geigler has acted as The Admiral’s interim executive director since Jan. 27, when Glenn Brichacek stepped down after 15 years with The Admiral to lead another community.

Before coming to The Admiral at the Lake, Geigler worked in a wide range of assignments with Covenant Retirement Communities, another nonprofit CCRC operator. She began her career there in 1999 as a receptionist and worked her way up to becoming the company’s director of administrative services.
