Lifespace Communities Names Three Executive Directors

DOWNERS GROVE, Ill., PRAIRIE VILLAGE, Kan., and DELRAY BEACH, Fla. — Lifespace Communities, a nonprofit operator based in Iowa, has named new executive directors at its continuing care retirement communities (CCRCs) in Downers Grove, Prairie Village and Delray Beach.

Chris Romick was named executive director of Oak Trace, a 274-unit CCRC in Downers Grove, a suburb of Chicago. Previously he oversaw the start-up and operations of senior living communities in five different states. He most recently served as executive director at SearStone, a retirement community in North Carolina.

Romick is a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He received his bachelor’s degree in gerontology and long-term care administration from Kent State University. He is a licensed nursing home administrator and also earned a master’s degree in marketing from American Public University.

David Russell was named executive director of Claridge Court, a 158-unit CCRC in Prairie Village, a suburb of Kansas City. He was previously an executive director with Spectrum Retirement Communities, and has held senior leadership positions with Brookdale.

Russell earned his bachelor’s degree in liberal arts from the University of Missouri – Kansas City.

Mark Trepanier was name executive director of Abbey Delray, a 352-unit CCRC in Delray Beach, located midway between Miami and Palm Beach. Trepanier previously worked as a regional executive director for ClubLink Corp., a golf and country club management company.

Trepanier earned his bachelor’s degree in industrial relations from McGill University in Montreal.
