Lifespace Plans $39.5M Expansion at CCRC Near Pittsburgh

UPPER ST. CLAIR, Penn. — Lifespace Communities has planned a $39.5 million assisted living and memory care expansion at Friendship Village of South Hills, a continuing care retirement community (CCRC) in the Pittsburgh suburb of Upper St. Clair.

The community currently features 297 apartments and carriage homes. The new building will add 50 assisted living units, 32 memory care units and some amenities and wellness services.

Lifespace will break ground on the expansion next week. An estimated completion date was not released.

Lifespace Communities, based in Des Moines, Iowa, is a nonprofit operator of 12 CCRCs in seven states serving more than 4,300 residents.
