LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Two major construction projects are underway at Masonic Homes of Kentucky, adding 170 additional units to its 82-acre continuing care retirement community (CCRC) campus in Louisville.

In September 2016, the owners broke ground on a $44 million independent living community called The Meadow. The expansion will feature 122 independent living residences, totaling 230,000 square feet on 11.1 acres of land.

Amenities at The Meadow will include full-service restaurants, private dining, casual bistro dining, 80-person movie theatre, creative arts studio and gallery, putting green, craft shop for woodworking, beauty salon and spa, fitness center, aquatic center, community living rooms, courtyard with outdoor seating and fireplace, library, and business/media room.

For the project, Masonic Homes partnered with several design and architectural firms, including Louisville-based Reese Design Collaborative, Lexington-based Paul Mattingly/Congleton-Hacker Constructors, Texas-based Greystone Communities and Wisconsin-based AG Architecture.

In addition to The Meadow, construction is also underway on a 48-unit assisted living facility called Grove Pointe. The expansion is scheduled to open in the summer of 2018.
