BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Methodist Homes of Alabama & Northwest Florida has opened a new rehabilitation center at Fair Haven, a continuing care retirement community in Birmingham.

The new rehab center is part of a $42 million expansion of the community. The rehab center has also been converted to the household model of care, featuring private bedrooms and bathrooms with a set of shared common spaces and amenities, as well as wider freedom for schedules and activities.

Other updates not yet completed in the expansion are a new skilled nursing building, assisted living building, independent living apartments and specialty care assisted living rooms. Methodist Homes expects to complete the campus expansion by August of this year.

Methodist Homes is a faith-based operator of 13 seniors housing communities in Alabama and Florida.
