Methodist Homes Plans $8.4M Expansion, Renovation of Community in Alabama

by Jeff Shaw

DOTHAN, Ala. — Methodist Homes of Alabama and Northwest Florida has announced an $8.4 million expansion and renovation to Wesley Manor, a seniors housing community in Dothan, located in southeastern Alabama near the Florida and Georgia borders.

The renovations will convert the community to the “household model” of seniors housing, with smaller groups of residents sharing a kitchen and living room.

Other plans include development of a dedicated short-term rehabilitation center and modernizing the entire campus, including existing assisted living and healthcare areas.

Golden Construction, a Birmingham-based construction company, will break ground this month, and expects to complete the project in January 2017.
