FORT MYERS, Fla. — Recognizing a need for more assisted living care in southwest Florida, Omega Communities, LLC, has purchased 8.93 acres of land at Six Mile Cypress Parkway just south of Daniels Parkway in Fort Myers for $2.05 million. Omega plans to develop a senior living community on the parcel.

Omega Communities develops new senior living communities throughout the Southeast. It is focused on the development of new facilities and the acquisition of existing facilities that present unique initial and long-term value. Omega’s current list of selected opportunities includes over $1 billion in possible projects.

“As baby boomers in Southwest Florida continue to grow older, there is a growing need for elderly assisted living care,” says Johnson-Crowther, director of retail services for Colliers International Southwest Florida. “A number of developers have recognized this need and are looking to find their niche in the Southwest Florida market.”

To better fit market demand, DRLP, Ltd. had the land rezoned for multifamily use. Previously, the land was zoned for retail use. Karen Johnson-Crowther and Dannielle Crowther Robinson of Colliers International Southwest Florida represented the seller. DRLP, Ltd. Conni Dean, CCIM, of Venture Realty and Investments represented the buyer.
