by Jeff Shaw

BLOOMFIELD, Conn. — Seabury, a continuing care retirement community in the Hartford suburb of Bloomfield, has broken ground a 68-unit independent living expansion.

The project is part of a three-year, three-phase repositioning of the community. This phase is scheduled to open in fall of 2017.

Ziegler provided $76.9 million in bonds to finance the expansion, as well as the next phase, which will conclude in 2018.

Seabury is a nonprofit CCRC operated by Church Home of Hartford. The community is situated on a 66-acre plot.
