FRANKLIN, Tenn. — Winter Construction has broken ground on a new Canterfield Senior Living community in Franklin, a southern suburb of Nashville.

When complete, the building will be three stories totaling 74,000 square feet. The company expects to complete Phase I of construction in fall 2016.

Atlanta-based Medical Development Corp (MDC) selected Winter Construction as the general contractor to build the first phase of the new Canterfield community in Franklin, as well as similar facilities in Kennesaw, Ga., and Bluffton, S.C.

MDC launched the Canterfield luxury senior living brand in 2011. Atlanta-based architecture firm Corcoran Ota Group designed the Canterfield model.
